Description

By questioning reality and it’s perception Sofia Uguccioni’s photographic in situ installation includes herself in one of contemporary art’s cherished pursuits.

Through her objective, reflected forms appear at once inverted, at times diffracted. From distortions emerge fusions.
Subject and Universe conjoin recalling the ubiquitous initial pattern.

The mirror comes to mind, but here differenciates itself from pure reflection. Could its strict frame, having to do with the order of enclosed intentionality, rival either the savage joy, or the ephemeral hurteling of sublime reflection ?

From April 28th in Hbc’s foyer, with the 5 synchronised Dia-projectors, the Apollonian beauty of the Mirror coalesces with the Dionysian reflections, and envelopes the viewer using the totality of the space till the infinite.

"The world is full of resonances. It constitutes a cosmos of things exerting a spiritual action. The dead matter is a living spirit. " Wassily Kandinsky
